For well over a year now, bills to enact a statewide paid family and medical leave program have been sitting in the Michigan Legislature with not so much as a committee hearing, despite the fact that it’s the right thing to do for Michigan workers and families, it has garnered support from the majority of Michiganders, and it has been shown to be a low-cost, high-value program according to a recent actuarial analysis commissioned by the state.
