The Michigan League for Public Policy’s Champions for Kids luncheon took place on Sept. 16 in Lansing. We were thrilled to welcome fellow organizations, advocates, community members and lawmakers as we celebrated the release of the 2025 Kids Count in Michigan Data Book and Profiles and explored strategies to help Michigan’s kids and families thrive.

Champions for Kids 2025 featured:

  • The latest findings on child well-being and policy strategies to improve outcomes
  • The presentation of the 2025 Champion for Kids Award
  • A panel of experts dedicated to making Michigan a place where kids grow up with optimism and opportunity. Our panel included U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow and Laila Bell, Vice President of Learning and Impact at the Skillman Foundation. Zoe Clark of Michigan Public was our moderator.
