2018 Public Policy Forum – Radisson Hotel Lansing

October 1, 2018 @ 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm

This year’s policy forum will explore the ways in which trauma impacts multiple generations, and how it impacts society as a whole. The forum will feature keynote speaker Dr. Joy  DeGruy. Dr.  DeGruy is an internationally renowned researcher, educator and author who provides a look into various cultural and ethnic groups that form the basis of contemporary American society. Her book Post Traumatic Slave Syndrome lays the groundwork for understanding how the past has influenced the present, and opens up the discussion of how we can use the strengths we have gained to heal. She will share insights into the long-term, genetic effects of trauma and we will explore its role in the health of children in Michigan. Please join us for this free event.
