More families with young children will have access to free preschool this upcoming school year.

The State of Michigan has loosened the income eligibility requirements for families to access free preschool programs to 400 percent of the poverty level. This is an increase from the 2023-2024 school year cap of 300 percent, and prior to that it was 250 percent, according to Northwest Education Services.
