The Michigan League for Public Policy released its Kids Count 2020 report Wednesday showing many children in Michigan lack the access to resources they need.

The detailed report focused on four key areas to determine the overall well-being of children: economic security, health and safety, family and community, and education.

The report released Wednesday did not take into consideration the impacts of COVID-19 on the state, however, Kelsey Perdue, the Kids Count director, said it showcased where kids were at before the health crisis and where the biggest needs will be following it.
