In Michigan, Health Policy expert Jan Hudson says the uninsured rate has dropped substantially from 12.2% in 2010 to 6.7% in 2015. And while many are concerned about pricey premiums, there are options available when choosing a plan.
“The first step is that most people are going to take if to go to the website and determine if they qualify for financial assistance to help pay for those premiums,” said Hudson.
And for those of you who decided not to sign up in 2016, it’s going to cost you a pretty penny.
“It’s going to be either 2.5 percent of your income or up to $695 for an individual so it can be quite a significant cost,” said Hudson.
And while signing up for health care can be nothing short of complicated it’s important to note help is readily available.
“Having assistance is very important so people can make the right choices for themselves and their families, ” said Hudson. Dec. 14, 2015 — WLNS
