A new statewide report is highlighting both progress and persistent challenges for Michigan’s children.

The report tracks indicators like health coverage, education outcomes, food security and access to resources.

While Michigan is still falling behind in education, there are other trends that are worth celebrating.

“Every other year we put out a report really highlighting some of the trends that we’ve seen in recent years,” Michigan League for Public Policy Kids Count Policy Director Anne Kuhnen said. “It really just shows how important it is to have public investment in kids in our state.”
