For young people 18-24 facing homelessness, finding a permanent home can be problematic.

In the state, the demographic’s population was estimated to be at 3,995 in 2018. That’s a stark decrease from 2016′s count of about 4,800.

But the trajectory for where those young people end up reveals a troubling trend.

Only 28% of the demographic end up in permanent housing, according to an annual report compiled by the Michigan Campaign To End Homelessness. That includes those who have housing with the help of subsidies.
