Whether you’ve voted for dozens of years or this is your first time, it’s always important to make a plan. Life gets busy and it helps to be prepared for any hiccups that might come up during election season. Fortunately, planning is easy! Just a few simple steps:

  1. Check to make sure you’re registered at MichiganVoting.org.  If you’re not registered, follow the steps on the site.
  2. Before you vote, be sure to visit VOTE411 to see all the races and candidates on your ballot! Be an educated voter and learn about candidates running for senate, judges, city or township officials, Michigan House of Representatives or school boards.
  3. Vote any of 3 ways:
    1. On election day at your precinct.  Not sure of your precinct?  Click on Where is my polling place? here.
    2. At an Early Voting site. Early Voting is available between October 26 and November 3.  To find your early voting site, visit mi.gov/vote and click on “your voter information.
    3. Use a mail-in ballot.  If you’re on the Permanent Mail Ballot List, you’ll automatically get a ballot before the November General Election.  If you don’t get a ballot by October 10, call your local clerk to verify a ballot is coming.  Or you can fill out an application here.
  4. Remind your friends, coworkers and family to vote…and help them make their own plan!
