I’ve previously discussed the negative effects the COVID-19 pandemic has had on women in the workforce — one in four women are considering downshifting their careers or leaving the workforce due to COVID-19. A large factor contributing to this shift is access to safe, affordable and high quality child care.

Women are more likely to carry the burden of housework and caregiving (National Alliance for Caregiving in Collaboration with AARP), which has only increased with stay-at-home and work-from-home orders due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
