The Michigan League for Public Policy hosted a discussion panel on Homes for a Lifetime Friday.

Senior Policy Analyst, Michigan League for Public Policy and the report’s author, Julie Cassidy, were joined by:

  • Lisa Dedden Cooper, Manager of Advocacy, AARP Michigan.
  • Paul Ecklund, ADA Specialist & Systems Advocate, Disability Network Southwest Michigan.
  • Kaci Messeder, Policy Analyst, Detroit Disability Power.

Older adults and people with disabilities face some of the greatest barriers to housing, and systemic ableism and ageism force many Michiganders to live in poverty and struggle with access to affordable housing, according to Cassidy.
