Right now, 76% of Michigan’s Medicaid spending comes from federal dollars, and any cuts will negatively impact the 2.6 million Michiganders who rely on the program — including 30% of children in Michigan’s 7th House District. Proposed federal cuts or caps to Medicaid would create harm for those kids and their families — and the ripple effects would reach much further,” said Monique Stanton, president and CEO of Michigan League for Public Policy. “When clinics shut their doors, services are reduced, and health care workers lose their jobs, entire communities suffer. It’s not just access to care that’s at stake — it’s the stability of local economies and the well-being of everyone who calls those communities home.”
