A new report out by the Michigan League for Public Policy and Kids Count in Michigan is painting a not so great picture of child care in the state.

That report shows one third of children in Michigan qualified for child care subsidies last year, but only 5% actually received those credits.

It’s also estimated that 44%of Michiganders live in what are considered to be child care deserts where there is a clear lack of licensed child care providers.
