…Alexandra Stamm, a policy analyst at the Michigan League for Public Policy, acknowledges the record investments but says education in the state is still underfunded.

“We have made strides in the right direction, we’ve set things up so that the money is going to the kids who need it most and the schools that need it most, but it is still underfunded,” Stamm stated.

Stamm also pointed to a separate report that shows Michigan teachers are less experienced now than before the pandemic.
