More than half of Michigan households with children reported lost employment income since March and 15% of households said they were struggling to put food on the table, according to a report released Monday.

The “Kids Count” report, by the Annie E. Casey Foundation, looks at how families with children across the U.S. are dealing with what it calls “pain points” like hunger, housing, health insurance and mental health during the COVID-19 pandemic, and offers policy recommendations. Data comes from the Census Bureau’s weekly Household Pulse Survey.
