Awareness is growing

Quote

Today I was especially struck by the New York Times video of Native Americans explaining their views on "race". I can't help but feel guilty, as a white male, that my "race" took so much of their land and killed so many of their people. I have often avoided thinking about this, and it makes me sad that so many generations of Americans, including me, have not appreciated their culture and respected their nations.

While it makes me sad, I am grateful that over the past few weeks I've begun to feel more empathy and awareness for people of other "races". I thank all of them for sharing their stories.
